I just noticed that today is the 3 year anniversary of me joining the JSF community. I can only say that it has been nothing but positive. The information, friendly people, sharing in both fitness :bb: and non-fitness areas of life, training ideas, etc. The best way to express it is with pictures. Here are a few from April of '05 when I found this place and then again this week. Through JSF is also where I met SwoleCat which was another big step forward. Thanks again John and all the folks here who take the time to share their time and knowledge. I am a new man because of this place.

Thanks, John. You should be proud of all your "students". If I would have thought of it, I would have taken my picture in a wife-beater and a scowl.;)

Dude, you've already lost 50 pounds! You're doing great and should look even better as you continue on your fitness journey. :tu:

Thanks a million.

Thanks, man. I choose the "then some" definitely.

vroom vroom baby!

You got it. My recent speeding ticket confirms it.

Scrawny to Not So Scrawny is more like it but I'm still working at it. Thanks.

George, this is for you and others who have commented on my arms. Yes, they are my favorite thing to work, but they are not huge (only 14.5"). But if you want to have nice looking arms, work on your delts and triceps. That will give you an overall nicely shaped arm and a nice cut. Who knows, maybe mine just look big because the rest of me is so small. But I'm still working on that.

Thanks for the advice. Those are two places where I'm definitely lacking.

I think a big part of it is the fact that your arms are very lean. There's a lot of definition and vascularity which gives the appearance of more size.

I never think of that because I don't have a good way to check my %bf so i don't know what it is. But my arms are pretty veiny (sp) and seem to be getting moreso all the time.

i think calipers and such tools are overrated, the best tool in my eyes is the mirror.

if you can see ALL of your abs, you know your way down
who cares for numbers, numbers dont look good, you do !:D

I'll say it again, you are quite the inspiration. The arm shots were good because I can see the same thing forming yet how much farther you've taken it. It reminds me to forget that old fallacy that used to haunt me... it went something like, "I'll always be skinny". You provide a second opinion and reminder that our skinny days are long over.

It's impressive and motivating. Congratulations and keep it up!

Thanks ET. Yeah, it's amazing how adding 30 pounds of mostly muscle will change a skinny guy's physique. Keep eating.:bb::eat:

I agree and that is pretty much what I do. Today was casual Friday and this is what I looked like in the mirror. Not too shabby for an old dude.:D

Thanks, NWM. I've got another Beatle shirt with the Sgt. Pepper album cover on it.

Four years from now? Mmmm. I'll be pushin' 60. Maybe something like this?

Thanks, Dave. My weight is down (so no more fat jokes) and so is my body fat. Maybe that just makes me look bigger. You're weight is down now too. Are you getting the same thing?

You're definitely still fat as a walrus. But yeah, I'm trying to get my weight back up to normal levels, you know, for leverage.

CG, I think I see some pec growth in that shot. IIRC, that is an area you have been targeting for improvement. Good work! :tu:

Thanks Late. My chest is definitely somewhere I am trying to add some size. And although the tape doesn't say it's gotten any bigger, i think it is fuller somehow. (I couldn't help but notice that you and I are exactly the same size.)

Your arms look so big you look like they are going to fall off!

Oh no. Look out for falling limbs.
