Okay, I realize this was not one of the more intelligent things Ive done. But earlier I was drinking a lot of Coffee with Kahlua and decided to go for some cardio on the treadmill. Im not sure if it was the caffeine or the alcohol which made me do it.
Besides the obvious risks of losing my balance and hitting my head, was this a dangerous thing to be doing?

well, if you had "a lot" of coffee, your heart rate is already elavated, so the cardio on top of that may not be very healthy for your heart. youd probably need a lot of coffee for this to be true though.

Boozing it while working out? It sounds great on paper, but at a minimum, I think your going to feel like absolute shit after words (should go without saying). Both caffeine and Alcohol are known diuretics and your going to lose a lot of water, which should result in a wicked bad hangover.. Alcohol is a poison. Your body can't handle much of anything properly when its dealing with booze.
John Wayne would nod his head approvingly, however.

Besides it being somewhat worthless (burning alcohol), if you didn't fall you didn't do much damage.
Don't drink and lift. :tu:

Okay, I realize this was not one of the more intelligent things Ive done.
The first step was admitting it was silly. The second step is... don't do it again! At the very least, the increased circulation should have given you a quality buzz.

Yeah it was quite dumb...lately i think ive been drinking too much caffeine (perhaps a little habit crept in) and between being hyperalert and the alcohol it made me want to do cardio.
Not going to be any coffee or alcohol for me for a while.

That is crazy never heard of someone doing such a thing but you are showing that you are keen that is for sure:tucool:.
But that said coffee is great as a fat burner and a strength enhancer but a recent study showed that coffee is one of the most addictive drugs out there. In saying that all in moderation as well as alcohol is a good idea.
In the study into coffee and peoples habits when it came to drinking it it was suggested to supplement the coffee during the day with 4 cups of black tea and if you have sugar with that use a artificial sweetener. The study showed that by doing so people that lifted weights dropped there levels of cortisol by 50% now that is something that we could all do with as it prevents muscle breakdown.
And in your case you wont be bouncing of walls:jumping:
So the recommendation that was given was
Morning 1 Cup Coffee
During the day 4 cups black tea
Before workout what ever time you do it 1 cup coffee.
