Hey guys its been a while since i posted, ive been on the right track, about 2 months ago i was at 250 and have dropped to 225 with really improved strength gains and gotten a bit smaller :tucool:. im not taking in weight loss supplement or anything and i was wondering if all this fat loss is contributing to breakouts.its not horrible but it is noticeable.

Okay, the obvious question (sorry if it's a dumb one): are you waiting around for a while after training to take a shower?

If anything I would think that eating better foods would give you less breakouts.

My personal experience has been that my skin improves when I'm doing as a I should. I'm guessing because of daily sweating opening up the pores. For me, breakouts only happen now if I've been lazy and it's a signal that I need to get off my butt and maintain my workout habits better.

I experienced the same thing during my initial fat loss phase and found a couple of answers in addition to the ones already mentioned:

- Your body stores toxins in your fat cells in order to protect itself. As you begin to lose fat, these toxins are released back into the blood stream.

- An improved diet means body processes become more efficient and your body takes a while to adjust to these new efficiencies. Any change in your diet or exercise regime is going to be temporarily stressful to your body to some degree. This is when breakouts can occur.

Slightly off topic, but that was the ailment that a guy was dying from in an pretty decent episode of House.

Wish I had something useful to add, but what you're describing hasn't happened to me, nor anyone that I could think of to ask.

Hey great program! That House episode sounds quite extreme - haven't seen it yet but will watch out for it :tu:

'Conditioning for Outdoor Fitness' by David Musnick has a small section discussing storage and release of fat soluble toxins in the body that might be worth reading.

A Google search on 'Fat loss and toxin release' is throwing up some interesting results as well.

Various bacteria can cause breakouts, too, so if you're handling equipment (even your own home gym equipment) and then touching your face or wherever, you can start to break out. I tend to break out on my forehead, because when I run, I wipe my brow a lot.

A good skin care regimen isn't just to keep you beautiful, healthy skin is part of overall health. Washing, using an astringent, and something for moisture with SPF (to keep pesky things like cancer at bay) won't take more than a minute as part of your washing routine, and should help a lot.
