Hi all,

I've just signed up at my local gym and need to come up with a 5 day split. I've tried working out in the past but never using a regimen.

You know, if this doesn't exist already, I think it'd be a great idea: a website that allows you to build a personalized fitness/workout routine for every day of the week. You would create an account, login, build a plan for the week and then be presented with a calendar for which you can select your muscle group (eg: Monday - Legs) and then the exercises used to target that group including how many setsXreps will be done for each exercise. You would go through each day of the week, choosing which muscle group you'd like to focus on for each day and of course the corresponding exercises. Basic diagrams of muscle groups as well as simple line drawings for the chosen workouts illustrating movement/direction would be pretty cool too.

After it's all said and done, you'd have a nice print-ready workout routine ready to tote with you to the gym. Maybe just a page or two in length. What I outlined above would basically just be a web-app that steps you through the process making helpful hints/tips along the way.

Anyone know of a website like this? If not, perhaps you can help a novice devise a 5-day split?

I'm 21 years old, 5'10", 170lbs and around 20% BF. I have yet to have a body composition assesment performed so I'm only guessing at BF%.

Thank you!

-Mason :)

Woops, that was silly of me to post without telling you my goals.

I'm looking to shed 10-15lbs of fat and increase LBM. I drink a lot of water and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and will be preparing meals that satisfy my calorie and macronutrient requirements.

It's called Exrx.net (http://www.exrx.net/Lists/WorkoutMenu.html).

Hi J_W, thanks for the resource but I guess I was talking about something a little more intuitive. An application that actually steps you through the process of selecting a muscle group to target and exercises for each day of the week.

I just found an example on Bodybuilding.com but it only produces a workout sheet for 1 day of the week: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/printworklog.htm

Thanks again.
