Hello there. I wouldn't say that I am new here. I've been around since John's pics were on Digg last year. But I will say that I've been on a "break" for a few months after I got frustrated last year. I think there were many factors in me not establishing the new lifestyle changes that are needed and who knows if I will be able to stick with them this year but I am trying.
Last year I got down to a low of 226lbs. This year I topped out at 244lbs...this is the largest I've ever been in my life (that I've tracked).
244lbs was two weeks ago today.. Today I am down to 234lbs.
I am eating naturally and working on getting weight and cario exercises into my routine (I wouldn't say it's a routine yet but it's still 3-4 times a weeks).
I've started blogging about my endeavors on my personal blog http://damnralph.com/CategoryView,category,Fitness.aspx partly because I know my friends see it and it gives me that accountability that John was talking about when he got started. The Journals don't really give me that accountability.
I see a big change from last year...I am able to take all that I've learned from last year and immediately applied it. I already have the tools and equipment that I purchased to get me going fast. And the biggest thing that's worked is that my wife and kids are eating healthy with me. Last year my wife wanted to do South Beach and she didn't want to force the kids to eat our food so for dinners we were making three meals.
Either way I am happy with my progress and look forward to making my first weight goal of 220lbs. I'd like to be sub 200lbs for my overall goal.
