Hi there! I am new on this board. I post on my babycenter so I am kind of familiar with boards! Thanks in advance for anyone who reads/ answers this!

When I was in high school, I was a recruit for the marines. (Never ended up enlisting, 9/11 happened and my parents FREAKED out on me.) Anyway, I was running with them and I LOVED my body then. I attribute it to running. (No doubt, being younger helped too!)
I have tried to start again, but when I get about 5 minutes into it, I develop a sharp pain in my right rib cage. Has anyone run into this problem? (No pun intended, LoL) If so, do you know what it is? Is there anything that I can do to make it stop? What is the best way to ease my body into running again?

Oh, I had my daughter about 5 months ago, and I was on bedrest for the last 3 months of pregnancy. I have been doing Windsor Pilates for about a month and a half now. I have lost all of my pregnancy weight but my body is, uh, not used to vigorous activity yet.:D

The pain might be a "stitch", which is caused by jolting the ligaments that support organs such as the liver, and which tends to be more common in runners who exhale when their right foot lands. If so, it should help if you time your breathing so that you breath out when your left foot lands.

Yup, like philph said: Sounds exactly like a side-stitch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Side_stitch).
