I want to do a quick cutting phase. I do not plan on cutting for more than 4 weeks. The plan is to do 3 week cycles of bulking and cutting. But I've never really got the cutting down correctly. I always lose too much muscle. That is the main reason I joined SGX. I really like the program but I cannot do it right now. I'm in my last semester of my graduate studies and getting to the gym 4 times a week is not possible right now. I can do three. Here is a plan that I would like to do and you all can tear it apart to let me know what you think.
Day1
Chest/Triceps/ Shoulders
Super set
Bench/Flyes 4 sets of 4 to 6 reps
Superset
Skull-crushers/ Dips 3 sets of 4 to 6 reps
Lat Raises 4x 15-20
Shoulder Press 4 sets of 8 to 12
Day 3
Back/Biceps
Hammer Chins 4 sets of BW to failure
Superset
Power Cleans/Back Rows 4 sets of 6 reps
Super set
Curls/Hammer Curls 3 sets of 6 to 8 reps
Shrugs 4xto burnout
Day 5
Legs
Superset
Leg extensions/Lunges 4 sets of 15 to 20
Squats
4 sets of 20 reps
Seated Calf Raises
Strip sets starting from a weight I can do for 10 reps
There it is. Not sure what to think of it. I wanted to do the WS4SB but I wasn't sure if it would be too much for my body on lower calories.
As for my diet well I think I'm going to try the 50/20/30 approach. It's high protein and low carb. I'll eat a little more carbs on workout days and lower the fat a bit to balance it out.
Right before I ended my bulk I was eating about 3000 calories and I didn't gain any weight. I'm guessing that is my maintenance. I'm lowering it to 2500 and that's what I'll eat for the next 3 weeks.
