Hiya.
This may seem obvious, but I'm trying to get a straight answer from people that take protien suppliments regularly, as can't find this answer anywhere.:read:
My husband and I are considering adding protein shakes after our workouts to give our body some fuel for building and maintaining muscle. I've read it can really help in building muscle.
Now, we've been told that once you start taking the protein suppliments you have to continue, or you'll lose some of the bulk/muscle you gained.
This sounds rediculous to me, as it's just protein, not any sort of stimulant or other chemical. We both do cardio daily and have been working on muscle toning and building - not going crazy or anything, but if it would help, we'd like to try a good vanilla flavoured protein shake/drink as a post workout pick me up. If they taste lousy, or don't really seem to do much for us, we'd like the option of just switching to a fruit smoothie or something else, as we've been doing now.
So - is this true?
If not, any good protein suppliment shakes you'd recommend? I've hunted for this specifically and can't find it anywhere. Please let us know the "truth"
Thanks :)
