I only caught the last part of the "Extreme Makeover" tv show this week. They had a guy on there that they said gaind 18 pounds (!) of muscle for his "makeover". They usually do these things in 6-8 weeks. Did anybody else see the whole show? How the heck did that guy gain 18lbs of muscle in 8 weeks? I want to be on his weight training program! Or was he on hormones?

I saw the whole show. They guy was way too skinny in the begining and he gained 18 pounds over all. Some of which was fat. They didn't go into the whole body fat percentage thing.

He did put on alot of muscle though.

He did put on alot of muscle though.

That's not unheard of if he's a newb lifter. I wish I could have newb gains once every 8 weeks or so.

Doubt it, after the first week they said he had gained 12 lbs. They mentioned in his diet that they would load on the steak, and that from experience that stuff sits in your guts for a couple days. If you look at his pictures too, he did put on some body fat, so when his trainer said he put on 18 lbs of lean mass, I think he was just saying that to inflate results. Plus, it looked like he weighed himself during training, and any decent trainer would have him drinking a ton of water. I know that I personally weigh 3-4 lbs more after a gym workout just from all the water I drink. Personally, I would say he probably put on anywhere from 8-12 lbs of real weight, which still isn't bad at all.

How the heck did that guy gain 18lbs of muscle in 8 weeks? As others have said, "He didn't."

You really expect a reality TV show of the newest kind to tell you the truth?

Also, did they say if they loaded him with creatine? I gained 10lbs when I loaded with that stuff.
