golfhackk72 February 8th, 2008, 12:29 AM Hey guys. Just wanted to post my latest progress pictures. I started bulking about 3 weeks ago (or learning to bulk:eat:) after 5 months of cutting. I think I've made good progress in just the last month of more weight training. I've cut out most of the cardio over the last 3 to 4 weeks. That was a tough thing to do after doing Cardio for 60 to 90 minutes a day 5 days a week for 5 months. The funny thing is (Although most people here say it, just hard to believe until you see it for yourself) that I think I have gotten leaner by eating more, doing less cardio and going strong on the weights over the last month. Weights are a hell of a lot more fun than all that cardio:nod:.
Thanks to everyone for all of the tips and info I have gotten from this place. No way could I have gotten this far on my own.
Looking at the pics, I think I need to do more work on my left arm and shoulder. It’s smaller than my right which I would think would be the opposite because I'm left handed. Oh well, I work on that.

I know its different for everyone but what lean muscle mass can I expect to gain? I mean, like one pound a week, one pound every 2 weeks?

Jason,
Below is the plan that I basically followed for 5 months. I know its not the best diet but it did what I wanted it to. One thing I did though that made it easier was I allowed myself to eat pretty much what I wanted on the weekend. I dont drink sodas and dont eat sweets so that never was an issue. I didnt lose control and eat everything in sight but didnt worry to much and didnt count calories. It worked well for me and made the week easy.
I was able to lose 60lbs in 5 months and went from a VERY HIGH body fat % (I didnt check it when I started, was scared to :o) to just under 10%, had it checked for the first time this weekend at the gym.

Hey TK,
thank you.
In Jan 08 I hit 148lbs and I'm currently 152lbs. In the month of Jan when I cut the Cardio pretty much totally out and started hitting the weights really hard I think I've lost even more fat and gained muscle.

Thanks man. I like the subway thing because Its easy and I know exactly what I am getting. I eat subway everyday for lunch during the week.
I guess Jared really does know what he's talking about. :D

Yeah, but Jared looks like he wouldn't know a dumbbell from a cowbell. You've hit the weights and built:bb: a powerful physique. Can't say the same for him.

Btw whats your height? and also on ur cardio sessions were your continuously aiming to improve your /speed/time /distance or did you do low intensity work outs for the 30-45 mins over the 5 month period?
Cheers

I'm a little over 5' 11".
When I first started Cardio, all I did was the treadmill. At first I was doing good if I could run half of a mile. I would walk most of the 35 minutes at about 4mph. I always tried to increase my speed and distance each day. By the end of the 5 months I was running 35 minutes at 7.5 - 8 mph non stop. Also, after the first month or so I added 35 minutes on the elliptical machine. Now for cardio I usually just run 2 miles at 8 mph 5 days a week.
