Hey, Guys.

A couple of us guys are debating about doing cable crunches from the front or from behind. (upper cable). I personally can't feel the strain on the upper abdominals from the front position, but I get a hell of a strain on my upper abs with the back position.

Anybody have any opinions, jocks!

I began doing them from a kneeling position facing the cable station. I felt those fairly well, but have recently switched. I do them standing up and facing away from it. Due to the relatively short movement of the crunch, I feel it more this way. Standing cable crunches are great!

I've been doing it both ways, and I think I've settled on facing the cable station like you do. But, I wonder about the direction of the resistance from the weights. Doing it facing the station puts a lot of stress on the upper abs (great), but doing it facing away from the station puts another whole dimension with involving the lats and traps. I'm wondering if this additional action on the other muscles somehow takes away from the abs focus.
