View Full Version : Cheapest online protein
Doubleoqueso January 30th, 2008, 01:38 PM I just plain cant afford GNC, and meat, nuts, and veggies are getting expensive. I'm cutting right now, and so I'm looking for some protein supplements, but prices are crazy everywhere I've found.
Does anyone have some websites for absolute cheapest protein? I looked at "trueprotein.com" and while they had a good selection, their prices didn't seem much better than GNC.
I want to make protein bars out of whatever I get, and I've yet to find a protein powder I haven't liked the taste of so I'm not worried about flavor, either. I'd really like to buy something in bulk, like 10 or 20 pounds. Any suggestions?
Lo0p January 30th, 2008, 01:50 PM I get my protein at costco, EAS brand
$30 for 6 lbs.
Whey/Soy/Casein blend
The chocolate flavor is crap, but the vanilla is good and I just mix the vanilla with Ghiradelli Unsweetened Baking chocolate if I want chocolate.
Sure it's got soy in it which is supposed to be bad, but I've realized amazing results using only this brand of protein.
digitalnebula January 30th, 2008, 01:57 PM You looking for whey or a blend?
The only thing I could find in a quick google search (in bulk) was American Sports Nutrition's 25lb tub for $130....but I'm guessing you would rather have a protein blend....Seems like $6-$8 per pound is the going rate for a good blend...
This should be an interesting thread though...
Doubleoqueso January 30th, 2008, 03:55 PM I used to get Costcos EAS whey, good stuff for sure. Then I moved to a place devoid of Costcos :blank:
Digital Nebula ~ I was hoping to buy various kinds to make my own blend. 10 lbs whey, 10 lbs miceller casien, maybe some egg or hemp protien :tucool:
Also, can anyone recommend a good recipe for a protein bar that is ero or very low carb?

True Protein (http://www.trueprotein.com/Default.aspx) already does that.

They're pretty expensive, unfortunately. When I have more money to spare, I'll probably be shopping at true protein pretty often :)
