View Full Version : How Long...
Doer January 22nd, 2008, 10:16 PM Can you stick to the same diet plan for? Like for instance,
Mine is:
vitamins/apple/almonds/chicken/water
banana/tuna/water
apples/chicken/water
banana/boca burger/water
apple/chicken/broccoli/water
Can I keep this same diet plan for like 6 weeks before changing it?
Hockey4 January 22nd, 2008, 11:35 PM You can keep a working diet going for as long as needed, as long as it's great nutritionally and calorically. Your plan looks extremely low in carbs and too low in calories to me, however. Lots of protein, and plenty of fiber, but try throwing some brown rice, beans, or lentils into the mix.
goonie January 22nd, 2008, 11:53 PM Well, nobody is going to accuse you of being short on fruit. :)
Like Hockey said, assuming the nutritional and health requirements are there, you keep a working diet as long as it's working for you. 6 weeks, 6 months, 6 years, whatever. I'm talking more about the overall nutritional aspects of the diet more than the exact food items, especially the longer you go.
Aren't you trying to gain quality lean mass? Maybe the portion sizes are larger than I'm estimating, but it sure doesn't look like much. Do you have something against non-fruit carbs?
GoalGetter January 24th, 2008, 07:30 PM What you are lacking in your food diet...can't you just switch off in Vitamins, or is that not as good?
Doer January 25th, 2008, 12:16 PM Without the broccoli, the math comes out to around:
calories:1400
Fat:32
Carb:25 (Yeah, I definitely need to find some carbs, any tips)
Fiber:25
Sugar:80 (all from fruit)
Protein:150 (my body weight)

1400 calories is WAY too low. If that's you in your avatar, you're an extremely thin, young man. That tells me you should be eating at least 1000 more calories than you are. There's no reason to be on the same diet as an 80-year old woman, unless you want to look like one.
Pack in the brown rice, wheat pasta, lentils and beans. Get those carbs moving!

That's not low in carbs, it's got fruit at every meal.
I'd call it low in healthy fats and green veggies. Starchy carbs might be added after weight training, but it's not low in carbs overall.
And there's no way with all that fruit it's only 25g carbs. One apple could easily carry that much.

I'm not sure how you're doing that math.

So is the fiber. I didn't even see the sugar number higher than the carb number :)
