Now I felt sorry for John when I read that he couldn't lift for ages due to his injuries. Now I REALLY feel his pain.

While making a tuna wrap, I cunningly managed to slice the end of my thumb off cutting lettuce. Not only did I manage to redecorate the kitchen wall, but my thumb is in heavy bandages and my arm is in a sling. Doctor reckons 3 weeks til I can lift again.... nothing on John, but man do I feel like an idiot.....

well thats the problem... not enough was sliced off to warrant them reaataching it, but still a fair chunk.

This can be roughly rephrased to: enough was sliced off for it to hurt like hell and destroy my work and home life, but I have no impressive injury to get sympathy with! Dammit!

Good luck in your recovery. I happened to slice my right thumb open last night. Luckily is was down the thumb and not across. Took almost half an hour of direct pressure to finally stop bleeding. Was glad that this morning was my leg routine. It only bled a little. Suck it up, and drive on.

I hear fresh thumb tips are an excellent source of protein did you leave it in your tuna wrap? :D

In December 2002 I managed to sliced a chunk off the inside of my index finger, that was a bit bloody, but not that painful after the initial stinging sensation, that was down to me almost completely severing the nerve in that part of my finger, so now I'm left with only about half of the feeling in part of the tip of my finger, doesn't sound that bad but it's incredibly annoying.

Might post a pic of the little scar later on.
