I would like to hear the opinions of others, but more than anything I'm just going to rant about how much I hate FedEx. So, I place an order through bodybuilding.com for a few things a couple of days ago. I get a FedEx tracking # and am a little annoyed considering that my last two packages have been left at the front door of my apartment. This wouldn't be an issue if I didn't live in a fairly bad neighborhood. I live where I live because it's cheap, not because it's nice. When I got home today there is a note on my door saying that my package has been left with my neighbor. The only problem is that I don't know any of my neighbors. So the first thing I have to do is figure out which apartment it is, then I have to knock on the door of a random stranger. Of course no one is home, so $120 bucks worth of my shit is with someone I don't know. At this point I may or may not get my order. I called FedEx to see if future packages can require my signature. The guy told me that the shipper has to choose the delivery option. Basically, he tells me my options if FedEx delivers is outside front door or with a neighbor. He did offer to have a driver pick it up from my neighbor and leave it at my door on Tuesday. I just don't understand how they can do this. They don't actually deliver to the person who owns the package. There is an apartment office that I have no problem with the driver delivering to, but apparently that's not an option.

All shipping companies pull this same stunt. You should either contact the company shipping your package and request a signature option OR put the apartment buildings main office as your delivery point. FEDEX will have no choice but to leave it there, if thats the main address you give. I used to do it all the time when I lived in an apartment. Just be sure your apartment management knows this is happening and are ok with it. I can't tell you how many times my packages were either left in front of my door for all to steal or left at the main depot which was miles away from my home and unreachable any other time than while I was at work...seems to me that they don't even consider that most people work from 9-5.

I have very few problems with any of them. I have found that I noticed DHL seems to try harder and are very fast. They might be small.
