So with school this year, and a job where I sit mainly on my ass and do nothing except wait for something terrible to happen (which it never does) and really poor eating habits, I have gained alot of weight. Here are some pics of me taken today at *GASP* 272 lbs as weighed by a digital scale at my gym, and 271 lbs as weighed by a mechanical scale at my gym. There are no AFTER pictures yet lol, but it is the new year, I am on day 2 of working out and eating right, and day 2 of not smoking. I feel bad for my poor cats, I have been yelling at them all day today.

Hey Bled,

Like you I'm on day 3 of the "new me" , we are certainly on the right site as the guys here are really helpful.

You have done the right thing by posting your pics as you have something to measure against and go back to.

I'm assuming with you giving up smoking that you haven't pulled the trainers out just yet or are you doing any Cardio work ??

You need to stick with it.. Only you can do it.. No one else can do it for you..

Set your small goals and stick to them... Your two days on your way to a new you.. :tucool:

Good luck,
One of the hardest steps is posting pictures on here.
Now you've done that all it takes is a bit of time and some willpower :)

sooo... its september now, and I'm down to 240 lbs, so i've lost about 30 lbs since last christmas, but I am not happy with the shape that I have taken at all lol, if anything my man boobs seem to have stayed the same size while everything else shrunk, and the same goes for my love handles, so now I look thinner with preportionately larger man boobs / and a muffin top.

*sigh* I hate having less than perfect genetics.

what does your weight training routine look like?

I agree with Jedi. You should be lifting like a madman. Plus cardio, plus good diet. You're doing great on the weight loss but you won't really be happy with your shape unless you start adding muscle to the equation.

If you've got the money, I used the services of SwoleCat and his SGX plan to great success. It allows you to lose weight and add muscle at the same time.

Keep at it, man. You're heading in the right direction.:tu:

Hey Bled! Glad to see you are still at it!

Remember, our trouble spots when it comes to fat storage are usually the last place that we will lose fat, so keep up with your plan...YOU HAVE LOST OVER 30 LBS! That is awesome and you know you are making progress. Eventually you will see fat reduction in the annoying places. Also remember that regardless of what you look like in the mirror physique wise, your body is healthier as a result of your efforts!

So did you manage to completely kick the smoking habit?

lol no I completely failed at the smoking part, I made it about 3 months, and then my grandma who raised me suddenly died from a thrombolus, so I said fuck it and started smoking again. I'll try again this new years, and hopefully nobody in my family will die that year :P

And I really haven't been hitting the gym at all, I've tried but I just can't get into it anymore. I bought a membership at a rock climbing gym here in the city, its a hell of an all round body workout and its easy to spend 3 hours there without even realizing. I bought some boxing gloves and hit up the heavy bag in my apartments crappy little gym once in awhile for cardio, and other than that I've just made a conscious decision to eat less. Not starving myself by any means, and usually once or twice a week I'll crack and eat a whole pizza or something like that. So far its been working out ok, but i know if I want to shed the rest of the flab i'll have to step it up in the next few months here.

thanks for all the words of encouragement though guys! take care.
