Starting a new journal for 2008. Tried this last year but I didn't keep up with it for a few reasons, but I have more freedom to post now so I'll give it another shot.

My diet will be kinda like a figure diet only wayyyyyyyyyy out from a show :D Oatmeal, eggs, eggwhites, lean meat, fish, chicken lots of chicken, veggies and fruit etc.. Five or six meals a day. I'm not getting to crazy about protien, carb and fat percentages or calories right away. I'll just eat clean with the right portions and I should be ok. As far as cheat meals, I see no point in that for the first month. Next month that will probably change.

As for workouts, I got myself a treadmill for Christmas. So I made a home gym in my garage which consists of a treadmill and three 5 pound dumbbells. I will be RIPPED!!! Actually, I have a gym membership and personal training sessions with a trainer that Mastover hooked me up with:bb: So I have NO excuse not to get in shape. I guess the plan will be to workout with the trainer and do his workout 2 more times a week. And cardio 2-3 times a week. I have to make a new appointment because I cancelled the last training session. My workouts have been kinda sketchy lately because I had throat surgery the end of Nov. and although I don't feel quite right yet, it should be ok.

My biggest problem, like most people, is being consistant with everything. I will be really happy if I can pull that off and get some sleep too.

Today's diet
Meal 1
1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup blueberries, cottage cheese I sometimes use cottage cheese in place of an egg and egg whites, but I'm not sure if that's good or not.
Meal 2
4 oz. turkey, 6 strawberries
Meal 3
5 oz. lean steak, 1/2 cup broccoli, small apple
Meal 4
2 scoops Ultra Size shake, 1 tlsp. peanut butter
Meal 5
Turkey sausage, green beens

80 ounces of water, 1 multi vitamin, 1 B, and 1EFA
Oh, and 2 large coffees with fat free milk.

Wanted to get up at 3:30 today to hop on the treadmill but I went out last night for a couple of hours and didn't get enough sleep, so I just got up at 4:15 and went to work:( Tomorrow I go to the gym.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Today went pretty good except I missed meal 2. That usually happens when I have a day off from work. Made it to the gym too:)

Meal 1
1/2 cup oatmeal with sugar free maple syrup, 1 egg and 3 whites and 1/2 turkey sausage large coffee 2 oz fat free milk

Meal 3
5oz chicken, cup broc., apple

Meal 4
2 scoops Ultra Size shake

Meal 5
4 oz orange roughy, cup brussel sprouts

90oz water, 1multi vitamin, 1 B, 1 EFA Another large coffee

In the morning I did 50 minutes on the treadmill. Only a fast walk at a slight incline. In the afternoon I went to the gym in Albany. The workout is one I did with the trainer at the other gym.

DB chest press ss with DB front squats 3 sets - 15lbs. 12 reps
Woodchop on exercise ball with 10lb. 3 sets 12reps
ss with plank position for 30 sec.
Lunge with DB extension 14steps 8lbs.
Squatthrusts 15 rest, 10 rest, 5
Russian twists 2 sets 8reps

This workout might not seem to hard but the squatthrusts did me in. A Marine friend of mine said they call those bends and motherfuckers and I see why. Tomorrow no gym but maybe some cardio.

I have a gym membership and personal training sessions with a trainer that Mastover hooked me up with.

Well this is going to get you some readership for your journal.

Hi Zen

Thanks for checking out my journal. I hope to keep up with it this time. So far it's helping me keep on track. I'm really lucky to have a trainer and Mastover around to help me out. But I welcome any comments and ideas, because I need all the help I can get:) I've been reading some other journals here and will be posting on them too.

No gym today, my legs are sore from yesterday. What a wuss I am, but hopefully I'll get stronger as time goes on. At least my diet was good.

Meal 1
1/2 cup oatmeal, cottage cheese, 1oz walnuts, sugar free maple syrup and cinnamon

Meal 2
6oz chicken, 6 strawberries

Meal 3
4oz lean steak, brussel sprouts, apple

Meal 4
ultra size shake

Meal 5
5oz lean hamburger, salsa, beets

Two servings of red meat today might not have been the best way to go but I'm low on iron so I don't think it will kill me.

96oz water, 1 multi vit. 2 large coffees

I haven't posted my weight or bf yet because I'm waiting till I meet with the trainer again to be more accurate. As of Tuesday I was 147 on my home scale. Tomorrow's plan is cardio.

It's not as easy keeping up with this journal as I thought it would be. But at least my past weeks diet has been really good, and I'm drinking alot of water and taking vitamins which is something I usually forget.

Didn't get to the gym as much as I should have but did cardio on my treadmill a few times. Either walking for an hour or walking a minute then running a minute for 30 minutes.

The best part is this morning I weighed 140 lbs. Which means over the past nine days I lost 7 lbs. Although my scale isn't the most accurate I think it's close. Mastover said it looks like I could have lost 7 but it's probably water weight, but that's ok because now I'll start burning fat.

Today's diet was good but missed meal 2.
Meal 1 - 1/2 cp. oatmeal, 2 tlbs. cottage cheese, 1oz walnuts, sugarfree maple syrup
Meal 3 - 6oz. chicken, 4oz sweetpotatoe, salas with diet dressing
Meal 4 - US shake with 1tlbs. pumpkin
Meal 5 will be turkey sausage and veg.

Gym today
10 min. warmup on treadmill
DB squat & press 10/12 12/10
DB chest press 12/12 12/12 15/10
DB curl 10/12 12/12 15/12
DB overhead extention 12/12 12/12 12/12
DB flyes 8/10 10/10
Seated Leg Press 15/150 12/170 10/190
Hyperextension 20 20

Ok, so the weights I use are embarrasing but if I keep with it this time I'll up the weights. Next Wed. I meet with the trainer again and maybe get bodyfat done and maybe pictures:rolleyes: This weeks goal is to get to the gym more.
