Wow I applaud you! :claplow:

You and I are doing similar things here...I am cutting as well. It has been 12 weeks since I began. I've had one cheat meal so far and honestly it didn't amount to much. My mind is set on reaching my goal and that is about 10% bf. I think in another 6-8 weeks I will be there. I am no expert but I am sure someone in here will chime in regarding the bulking part. Great job once again!:tucool:

Thanks for the positive comments! I am kind of at a cross roads right now. I plan to take a week off over the holidays after 14 weeks of continuous cutting. I had only one cheat meal in 14 weeks and I am looking forward to taking a break. I am still going to watch what I eat over the next week but I am not going to be militant about it. I also am for sure going to enjoy some meals that I would never eat while cutting.:D

I am still undecided as to what to do after the holidays. I am either going to continue to cut down to 8% which I think would take another month and a half or I am going to just go ahead and bulk. Anyone think that it is vastly better to start a bulk after I get down to very low body fat? Or should I just not worry about it and start bulking where I am right now?

I am getting a little sick of working my butt off in the weight room just to maintain by lean mass or possible gain a pound or two. It would also be nice to go on a bulking diet as I have been calorie cycling between 1600 and 2000 cals for 14 weeks now.

Thanks in advance for any input!

I'd say go for the clean bulk. You look plenty lean enough (great job on your cut, by the way). You look ripe and ready to add some muscle.:bb:

You look great man!! Awesome job!! :bb:

I suggest you take a break from cutting and find your maintenance. You've finished 14 weeks on a calorie deficit and your body (and mind probably) needs a break.

Ramp up to maintenance, lift heavy, rev up your metabolism and let your body get used to its new composition. Be careful as your leptin levels are likely very low and cravings will start to get INSANE as you relax your diet a bit.

Make the decision on whether to cut or bulk in about 4 weeks, when you're rested and ready to do so.

Thanks for all of the positive comments! :)

For my cut I basically calorie cycled between 1700 and 2000 calories a day. Followed a 40/40/20 split. Sometimes it was closer to 50/35/15. I supplemented with Whey, Flax, and Fish Oil. I also took a daily multivitamin. I drank a ton of water a day.

My workouts were a 5 day Max-OT split along with cardio (mix of HITT and LISS) 5 days a week.

I put a little fat back on over the holidays:eat:. I plan on going back on a cut for a few weeks to lose my holiday fat and then perhaps maintain for a while before starting a bulk.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

You got to where I'm going. Now keep it up and go to where I want to go once I get to where you are now.

i'm amazed at your progress. that's over 3 lbs per week and it doesn't look like you lost any lean muscle mass... how did you do it ? how did you determine your calorie levels. i'm currently stalling and am looking for advice...

how did you determine your cal levels ?

I actually feel like I went to low and probably would have done better to take a while longer to lose the fat. I was able to gain muscle during my cut but that is probably due to my newbie status. I also used to be in shape about 3 years ago so some of my progress may be due to muscle memory. I think that the slight calorie cycling that I was doing probably helped my progress as well. I would alternate weeks between 2000 and 1700 cals. If I had it to do over again I would probably keep it higher more like 2400/2000 cals.
