Did you know that 80% of UCSD students could not find the error above?
JoeSchmo December 17th, 2007, 11:30 AM Hmmm....I think the answer has to be that 20% of UCSD students found something wrong with it when there clearly is not. :p
Unless of course....the answer is that there is no question mark at the end of "What's wrong here" written above.

Hmmmmm..... Good point. The answer might be that there is nothing wrong.

Lots of answers. My favorite answer was "we don't say our ABCs like this, AAA BBB CCC... we only say each letter once." :)
ohmahgawd December 17th, 2007, 01:32 PM When I was asked this awhile ago, the official answer was that there are 3 things wrong; however, in the case of the way that you posted the question, there is only 1 thing of which Joe already identified.
In the question that I was asked, 'what's' didn't contain the apostrophe and the 'III' line was actually composed of lowercase 'Ls' rather than uppercase 'Is' ....
KT Monahan December 17th, 2007, 03:32 PM What a dumb riddle. I'm sorry if I wasted anyone's time with this. I know my time was wasted.
Try this one
How Long is a Chinaman.

Dude, Chinaman is not the preffered nomenclature. How Long is a citizen of China.
It could be that "How Long" is a proper name, or the answer could be "A Chinamen" is nine letters plus a space long.

:o
Chinaman is a term that refers to a Chinese man. :blank: It was not defined as offensive by old dictionaries. :) Today, Asian American organizations and others have objected to the use of the term as offensive, and it has been defined as such by current dictionaries. :( The term is still used without offensive intent,:) and is also used as a self-referential archetype by authors and artists of Asian descent.;)
Compared to terms such as Englishman, Scotsman, and Frenchman, "Chinaman" differs in that the noun, "China", is used as the stem instead of the adjective, "Chinese".
The answer is yes, How Long is a proper name.
