What is a way to increase vascularity i guess it is (where one vein will look moderatley large on a muscle like the bicep). This appearance is very nice overall. Is there a certain way to lift to go about attaining this or is a genetic thing?

Genetic and dependent on how large the muscle is, I believe.

1. Lower your body fat - at lower body fat, your veins will show more

2. Train hard

The people with the most vascularity I know have been training for the longest time (i.e. years and years). I saw veins the first time at around 10% body fat and then saw more and more vascularity as I trained longer and longer (not longer per session, but over time).

I was about to go back to edit and say low BF% but Jeremy has beat me to it, so I second him!

Just from my experience -- I started seeing veins in my arms after the second or third week of lifting. I would guess my bf is in the low 20s.

Right now I am on my second week of max ot and I have gotten stronger. Should I be worried about losing my vascularity If I'm eating right but still gaining muscle along with some fat?

I saw viens around 15%( i think) but thats only when i "pumped" them with blood, like when working out.
now i see them all the time, and i can touch them... feels weird :p

although less important than having a low bf, I would say that there are 3 more reasons to appearing of viens.

1) skin thickness, although usually influencted from bf and water retention some pepople has a less thick skin than others.

2) muscle mass, the bigger your muscle is, the higher the chance you get to see your veins.

3) loose skin, if you're just finished a cutting stage and you can't see your veins it can be because it takes time for the skin to shrink back.
(i'm not too sure about it, I just read it somewhere and it sounds logical)

Im actually not a fan of the look. My dad is very vascular naturally (He doesnt work out), and its a gentic trait that i have aquired from him.

In an "unpumped" state, at my current BF, its not that noticable. However, as soon as i get pumped, they show up all over ! I worry that when my BF drops, they will become prominent in a normal unpumped state.

Anyway, back to my reason to post here. ;) Skin thickness can be reduced by stretching. As well as streching the muscle, it also stretchs the skin, making it thinner. Just something to bear in mind.

Well i can see tons of veins in my arms because of genetics and what not but what i meant is htere a certain way to get a vein in a certain area to appear. I have low body fat naturally between 9-10 percent, so i just wanted to know if you can target veins so to speak
