I don't know about most of you, but never in my life before was I in any sort of admirable shape. In fact, I spent the entirety of my life in such dire physical condition that I didn't even know it was possible for me to be in a state of good physical condition, I was under the impression it was solely genetics.

My young life was that of a hardcore gamer. Finding this site and the associated forums was like finding a cheat code for life to me. To find that it was actually possible to achieve the physical body I had only dreamed of was all the encouragement I needed. I have followed those instructions and not since stopped.

I have found that I am very slow to gain muscle, but I have also grown to appreciate that I am very slow to lose it. I didn't eat anything solid for a week and I didn't lose any strength or size. I am thoroughly excited by how fast and far I can sprint before getting to the point of "breathing hard".

For me, it used to be that taking off in a max effort run would instantly result in labored breathing. After following the instructions found on the JSF forums, I can take off into a full on sprint for several blocks, far faster than I have ever been able to run in my life, and not even need to breathe deeply for the first several blocks.

It is like I found the cheat code for life.

I can run like never before, lift things heavier than ever before, move like never before, perform physical tasks easier than ever before, impress like never before, and get positive female attention more than ever before. I run, lift, and flirt for fun these days! Years ago I would never have associated those things with fun! That, to me, is like a cheat code. Every lift and workout is like an investment into that cheat code, making it more effective than ever before.

I was never "naturally" big, strong or fast (though I was blessed with shockingly stable general health). Every milestone I achieve is a new ultimate high in my life. Every pound I add to my lifts is one pound more than I've ever been able to lift before. Pushing myself is nothing short of exciting knowing that I will achieve something I have never before achieved in my whole life. When my progress slows, I will have the motivation to keep at it, knowing that each hint of progress is a brand new achievement.

But to those of you that have never experienced physical fitness and are pursuing it now, do not give up! The cheat code of life can be summarized in one word ~ persistance! Do not give up! Keep at it, whether you see results or not, just keep at it and you will reach your goals. Human bodies are far more predictable than the time frames to which they are confined. Just keep doing what you know is right and you will meet your goals.

I have not yet met my goals, but I am already enjoying the fruits of my efforts. I am excited beyond words with the possibilty of experiencing the life that would surround the achievements that are my goals. And when I reach those goals, the goals I will undoubtedly set thereafter will be in non-physical areas. Control my body, control my life. I have never been so excited for my future, and that excitement is another one of life's cheat codes.

Enthusiasm.

You have it all wrong, we all clearly live in the matrix and the cheat code is obviously 35F56-FR78R and can only be entered when you're born. Seriously though, you took the words right out of my mouth. :tucool: Truly Inspirational. I am in the exact same boat as you, hardcore gamer, never good at physical activities etc.... but all that is changing now :D

Great observation. I think not only does being fit or working to be fit bring more good things into your life, but it changes your perception on many things in life as well.

Great thread!

...I can take off into a full on sprint for several blocks, far faster than I have ever been able to run in my life, and not even need to breathe deeply for the first several blocks. ...

I need that code! When I sprint all-out over 100 meters on the track I am absolutely DONE, finished, leveled! :p Heavily winded for probably 5 minutes. :(
