View Full Version : My Progession
DCDIME November 19th, 2007, 01:37 PM First off:
I would like to say that I have been reading and learning on this forum for about a year now. I don't really post often, but thought I would this time.
I began my Life-change(as i call it) about 15 months ago and have never looked back. I was a typical guy of 28 ie:good job/wife/blah,blah. I was mentaly confident, but physically unconfident. I was just thought "guys who workout are just shallow". I couldn't have been more WRONG. There were a few occurences over the previous summer that brought me to realize that i was overweight and weak. I came to the comclusion one day that this was going to change. the next day i went out to the local gym and signed up. I also through a ton of reading and surfing found this forum. Through determination and sacrifice i pushed through the hard part at first. Now I feel like a million bucks, but still have much work to do. I realized it isn't about getting to the goals you set, as much is it is about blazing through them to the next.
I felt that posting a couple of pictures of my change will help me in accepting that i have still on track and have the drive to get better.
If anybody has any feedback, feels free to throw it out there...i am not worried about being critiqued. I also have no idea of my BF%...I'm not trying to be a body-builder...just a guy who's physical state doesn't limit him from anything.
Height 5'10
Starting weight:216 lbs.
Weight as of this morning: 179 lbs.

SanFran_E November 19th, 2007, 09:18 PM Word! Nice work.
So I have to ask: At what point did you decide to add a badass chest tat to the mix? :D

Tattoo's are a bit of a passion for me. i just had that specific one finished 2 weeks ago (it was about 8 hours of fun). thanks for the encouragment.
NYTrooper November 20th, 2007, 02:04 AM Great work. Besides the obvious loss in your chest / stomach area I can also see a huge difference in your face. Great motivation, thanks for posting. :tucool: :tucool:
pedurrod November 20th, 2007, 08:56 AM Great transformation!
I'm also 5'10" and was at 210 and now down to 180. I know how good you feel now. Keep working and eating right and you'll soon get a six pack.
BF I think about 15%. Maybe more, but not much more.
Congratulations.
bernlin2000 November 20th, 2007, 10:27 AM Awesome transformation, you look much healthier. From what I've learned (having only been a gym rat for a few months) is that there are all sorts of people at the gym, some are incredibly shallow and others have a deep passion for staying in shape. But I think both groups have discovered something about the gym: working out and getting in shape makes you feel better about your body and changes the way you look at yourself and those around you. Good job, and here's to continuing progress!

You couldn't be more right
SanFran_E November 21st, 2007, 09:00 PM Okay, this may sound dumb, but I've always wondered about the effect of body transformation on tattoos. Seeing how you've experienced it first hand, what did you notice? I would think it would just stretch, but does that change the coloring at all? Or anything else?

In my case it didn't that i can see...I have a half-sleeve on my right upper arm, and it has shrunk and stretched with muscle development. The color stayed put and didn't distort that i can see. It may be different for some people that have lost more weight than I have. The flames on my arm were arranged so that they went with the contours of my tri/bicepts...it would probably be noticable if they had.
Does anyone else have any input on this topic? cause I'd like to know as well

I've noticed that you have your room in order and not messed up like in first photo. Also you ain't using your shorts outside your jeens (I hope those were your shorts).
Awesome body transformation there. In few months you will be the envy of many (if you ain't already, what I don't doubt). :tucool:

Thank you for the positive feedback...I never noticed that my bed wasn't made in the first picture(my wife would kill me). As well I'm also wearing work pants in both pictures. Work pants never sit right because they are just one style for everyone. It was just the two pictures I had to show before/after. People constantly tell me how good i look this year (as opposed to last year). It's a good feeling for a second and then i feel a little embarrassed. Am I the only one that gets that feeling? Not really in a negative way, just that people actually noticed the change.
IROC-Z December 7th, 2007, 05:56 PM Awesome transformation! Great job!
krosspyder December 7th, 2007, 08:35 PM great job man! much respect.
cool tats too.
so what does it say on your chest tat?
MannishBoy December 7th, 2007, 09:37 PM Good work!
But the contrast of the tats with the stuffed animal on the bed is kinda funny :D
DCDIME December 8th, 2007, 12:18 AM great job man! much respect.
cool tats too.
so what does it say on your chest tat?
It says: "Ask Not for Lighter Burdens-But For Broader Shoulders"
It's a tribute to my mother who had lung cancer 5 times and went through hell...but never complained a day of it...she is my hero.
