I've always thought that thick necks really exaggerates a muscular physique, and unfortunately, mine lets me down (or it will once my bodyfat starts reducing).
Does anyone have any good exercises for the neck?

Lie on your back, lift your back off the floor so your head is taking the weight. The roll back so the weight shifts from the back of your head to the top of your head. I saw Mike Tyson doing loads of these, and look at his neck !!!!
Be careful training this area though. :)

Yeah, I've seen him do that too. Might be a bit too much weight for my neck to take at the moment though, and I'd probably have no hair left. lol. ;)

Try building up to the tyson ones by holding a simple headstand. Try 3 sets , holding each one for 30 seconds. :)

Big traps exagerate the neck so try doing some shrugs.

I realize this thread is old, however I thought I'd recommend a resource:
1. http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/NeckWt.html
2. http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/Sternocleidomastoid.html
3. http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/Splenius.html
It might be safer if you try some of the exercises listed on the links above. We wouldn't want you to sprain or injure any of the muscles of your neck by trying to lift your bodyweight. The neck wasn't designed to do that. A 15-20 lb. head is one thing. A 170 lb. body is another. :)
- Skip :)

The only one I've done specifically for the neck was on a machine at a gym I used to go to. Basically it had a padded bar on it and you rest your head on this bar, then move the bar over with your head (to the side). Then reverse positions and do the other side.
I'm sure there are many more, but that's the only one I can think of right now.
