Hi everyone. This is my first post, but I have really enjoyed and been encouraged by all the great information here.

I have recently begun a new fitness routine. To start: I am 6'00" and weighed 274 back in January. I have lost 60 pounds since then with the use of medication and diet. I know that using the meds isn't the most healthy way of losing the weight, but I needed some help getting started. Now I actually feel like exercising, so I have joined a gym. Now that I have the clearance from the doctor I can start weight training. I started out on the treadmill for 30 minutes at 3 mph. I had a target heart rate of 133-149. The first day on the treadmill I was able to make 30 mins without too much difficulty. My heart rate got to 152 by about 5 mins and then leveled out around 140. Today (Only my fifth time on the treadmill) the highest my heart rate went to was 140. The treadmill adjusted the incline up some, but even then most of the time I was in the 130-135 range.

So my question is: Is that right? Could I be seeing improvement in my cardio that soon? If so, that really makes me feel good about what I am doing. I know I have a long way to go yet to reach my goal, but to see some improvement all ready is fantastic! :claphigh:
