I picked up a 300# Oly BB set *new* for $120 at Sports Authority.

Have you checked Craigslist?

You might find a deal there for a rack AND plates.

Try ebay or newyorkbarbells. They seem to have pretty affordable stuff. A squat rack can be had for a couple hundred bucks so set yourself a price range and start looking. Try to get some free shipping if you can.

I have a very affordable Golds gym xr35 half rack with bench that I paid under 200$ for and it does everything for me. Your gear does not have to be the most expensive, just what will work for you for a couple years. Mine has a high pulley and low pulley which I load with well over 300 lbs and seems to work just fine.

The bench is kind of cheesy so i spent another 100$ on a fairly nice one that works great for me. Definately get a detatched bench so you can use your rig for squats. This will be you number one piece of gear for eveything so think it through.

I would stay away from the bench with the attached bench rack thing on it because it is very limiting.
