OK.. I just got a membership to my gym. What I want to do is cut and gain a little muscle. I wanna show a little change by the time I start college, which is in less then two months

I think my main problem is the fat on the lower part of my belly, its hard to get rid of :(

Ok heres my work out plan so far:

Sat:
Run/walk for 20 mins.
40/80 cruntches.
walk/run on the treadmill for 20-30 mins.

then after work jog for 10 mins..

Sun:
REST DAY, but I might do some joggin.

Mon:

Run/walk for 20 mins.
40/80 cruntches.
walk/run on the treadmill for 20-30 mins.

jog after work 10-20 mins

tues:(my day off from work)
SWIM for 30-an hour.
walk/run 20-30 mins on treadmill
80 cruntches
night time: 20-30 mins on treadmill
jog 10-15 mins.

weds: run/walk 30 mins.

20 mins on tread mill

thurs: run/walk 30 mins

20 mins on treadmill

Fri: ( my day off from work)

run/walk 20-30 mins

Swim... for an hour or so

I also go skating for 3 hours that night...

( I added more running bc i have a problem running, my legs itch real bad everytime I run)

Also, what kinda of weight lifting should I do. I'm new to lifting completely

I personally think your're going to burn yourself out doing that much cardio in one week.

I read on the forums that no more than 1 hour of cardio should be done in one day and while I can't prove the accuracy of this statement I would be inclined to believe it

I also recall that fat loss is effectively achieved through a combination of cardio and some form of resistance training.

For weight lifting you should concentrate on compound exercises (exercises that work more than one muscle group) e.g. squats, bench press, deadlifts, dips etc...

I'm pretty sure having at least two days devoted to a full body weight resistance training will have better results than doing cardio alone

Finally remember that a rest day is just that, so just relax or do something fun on your time off

I can take a whack at making out a routine if you want me to.

Hope this helped

I highly recommend you read these two sites thoroughly: Renee's (Skwigg) (http://www.skwigg.com/) and Krista's (stumptuous) (http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/index.php). As you learn more about lifting, you'll see that there is next to nothing gender-specific about it, and these sites will not only give you an excellent background but also show you there that there isn't anything you can't do in the gym. Krista's site also offers some guidance in formulating a plan for yourself.
