Something else to consider:

Although chronic alcohol consumption is associated with lower testosterone levels, acute administration may cause a temporary testosterone spike.

Now, I'm not going to drink a beer after a hard training session, but I do think this is pretty interesting....especially given that many people (on fitness boards) argue that any alcohol consumption is counterproductive and even harmful. Everything in moderation.....

Makes sense, considering the increased aggressiveness ("beer muscles") you often see as a direct result of drinking.

Hmmmm...

One of the first things my strength coach said to me was on the line of "After lifting, I like to have a cold beer and sit by the fireplace and read"

With a 440 bench and 600+ deadlift who knows?;)

I did my own experiment a couple weeks ago where I drank beer during my workout. It worked suprisingly well. I focused very well up until about 4 beers, then I started goofing off too much. I was very pleased with my level of concentration and aggressivness.

I did the same test while running on the treadmill but it was too hard. The run was ok but the beer was sloshing around in my stomach and the sprint portions were very tough.
