Anyone have one of these? Do they damage the door frame at all? Any good?

Doorframes have to be built to a minimum strength in order to pass codes. So I expect this thing won't hurt your door so long as your home meets the building codes.

Looks like it should stay attached just fine, so it should work for pull-ups. Maybe someone who's actually used one can give you more definite advice on that, though.

Very popular item around these parts. (http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=37342&)

Best piece of fitness equipment I've ever purchased, for the cost.

Thanks.

I want to get one and just do negatives 4 or 5 times a day until I can do a pull up. Then just grease the groove and do a couple of pull ups here and there throughout the day until I can knock out 10 in a row.

i don't have this one but smething very similar and one that works on the same principle.i have used it for over a year and love it.no damage whatso ever to the door frames.if you are worried about wood bruising I suppose you could place something under the contact points hoever there is no depression or brusing on my kitchen door frame (where i have mine) at all.i would feel confident to buy one, they are really great.

You will get to ten quite quickly. That one reason i place mine in the kitchen door.i pass under it so often and its so conveinieant to do a set.

I thought that this was so cool I went to the store to look for something similar. I found a doorway pull-up/chin-up bar that's pretty much the same thing for $11.99 at Wal-Mart. It works great and I try to do a pull-up everyday I walk under the door. Mine screws into the frame and seems very solid. Says it can support up to 400lbs.

I had the leverage type and it was pretty much worthless. Slipped off with just my 160 pounds on it. I then got the type that screws into the frame ~ it became one of my favorite lifts.
