Basically, I've just left college and am now at a crossroads in my life

I've been actively been pursuing a healthier lifestyle and am now wondering if I can turn my hobbie into a real career choice

So I'm appealing to anyone with experience - good or bad - in the fitness industry or simply enthuisiastic about self improvement to share their stories or knowledge

I know that this is a potentially life altering request so any answers will be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure what the fitness industry is like there in Ireland, so I can't comment on what your chances of being successful would be.

I will say that I recently left a 20+ year career in the sales and marketing area of the publishing industry to take over as the General Manager of a Gold's Gym. This decision came after two years of preparation, including an internship at the YMCA as a Personal Trainer and a good deal of independent fitness consulting.

I'm very happy with the change in my lifestyle and my new position.

check out thefitcast.com

They have had lots of interviews with people in the industry about the industry, how to get started, etc., etc.

Alwyn Cosgrove hsa also written on his blog about the business itself as well.
