Hey I saw this barbell set in craigs around were I live and it seems to be at a decent price. Was wondering if you guys might have had any experience with it or can tell me if it looks crappy or good.

Those are the big plastic weights and only 80 lbs of them. You would be better served by continuing your search. Sports Authority has a 300# set for 109.99$ The bench would be more of course. Craigslist doesnt always have the best deals on weights but there are some deals to be had, you have to just keep looking.

Dick's Sporting Goods also has $100-$100 budget Olympic 300 lb sets, but I don't think they have them on their website.

I'm curious about something...I always see where people mention those sets as being "budget" but what exactly is budget about them compared to the $300+ sets? Is it the barbell? I know some have the grip plates, but I've seen sets just like those $100 ones going for $300. Just curious.

Check out Sports Authority/Gart's Sports. I bought my set there on sale for $99.99 and they normally run under $140.
Also, check out Sears. I've seen sets there for under $120.

Looks decent enough. The only problem I could see is going beyond the weight fairly quickly and then needing to buy more weights down the road. If you don't care if the weights match, then no big deal.
Do you have a Sports Authority nearby?

Quality of the metal on the bars, consistency in the weights, construction on the ends of the bar, etc.
The cheap bars are just not as strong as the high end stuff. The ends on bars made for Olympic lifts spin better and use a different way to attach instead of the big allen bolts, etc. Bar diameters can even vary as I understand it.
