I mentioned it in my other newbie post...But I'm interested in others results.

I did my first big boy workout on Monday (Hard workout, big weights, Compound exercises, etc...)...

It's Friday, and my thighs are STILL feeling the dagger effect. But at least I can move around well.

I couldn't walk for two days, and had to go bowling on Wednesday night....A whopping score of 74. Yea, I got made fun of, and my excuse 'But my legs are toast' just didn't cut it.

What's the longest you've been sore from a hard workout? And which workout was it from?

So far it's 4 days for me, and I'm pretty sure its from that Squat set I did.

Whenever I take a long break from working out and then start back, I'll be sore for a full week after the first time.

I had a great leg workout last week. The next day my left hamstring was sore as can be. The next day I broke out along the hamstring with what looked like a whole bunch of pimples or a rash and it still hurt. The next day my inner thigh was sore, and I noticed a whole buch of what looked like burst capliaries or whatever you call them, that I never had before.

I got alot for that one work out. My inner thigh still hurts but I cant wait until next leg day.

The worst soreness I ever had lasted about a week. I hadn't done squats in about a month, and when I finally did them, I went all out. I was walking around like Frankenstein for about 3 days -- couldn't go up stairs, and walked at the pace of an emphysematous 90-year old with a peg leg. The soreness didn't go away for about a week. I generally like being sore the next day, but this was way over the top ... I don't care to repeat that one again.

One week....bi's, chest, tri's. Blasted 'em one Monday just for a change-up. Also decided I'd do weighted close-grip chins to stark-raving absolute complete failure.

It worked. I couldn't button my shirt for a week.

I seldom get sore but a couple times I've been dehydrated from a cold and then I typically get a week of hamstring soreness off a single workout.

I used to work with a guy who had MS and walked very odd. He was a great guy, he just a tough time walking. It was only he and I at this place. The days after leg day were the worst because I didnt want to be walking funny or hobbling around in front of him for fear he would think I was messing with him. I would have to just suck it up which made it that much harder.

I'm not too keen on the DOMS. Fortunately they usually don't last more than a day for me. 2 days if I'm trying a new lift. First time I worked my calves real hard they were sore for almost 4 days, though.

To add a flip to this... how long before you get sore? I did pullups for the first time in awhile and didn't get sore for 3 days. Now they're killing me. (in a good way)

Worst soreness for me was a long time ago. I did an insane leg routine and hurt for a week. I could barely walk up and down the stairs.

I like to feel it after, but I still need to function.

About a week as well.

Longest delay in soreness is about 36-48 hours. It's a bit of a surprise when you wake up the next day, feel nothing in the morning and really sore by the evening (36 hours after the workout).

I've also felt sore withing hours afterwards, lasting a day or two.

Apart from doing something 'new' I can't figure out why soreness occurs when it does or for how long.

Usually I don't get much DOMS. Sometimes even starting a new routine, or having a really good workout.

Stomach crunches, believe it or not, are the ones that leave me incredibly sore for a week.

Couldn't have said it better myself, the only difference for me is that it was after my first time squatting. Felt like I had knives in my quads, my girlfriend (who only weights about 135lbs) sat on my lap and I almost cried. She laughed at me. For me, walking up stairs was done with my calves and hips, some sort of weird combination of lifting my left leg at the hip as much as I could, while pushing myself up on my toes on my right foot.

I usually welcome a little DOMS as a sign that I really pushed it the day before, but I don't care to ever relive a week of that, it wasn't even sort of fun.

9 days.... First time I did my leg workout last year..... Leg Press, Leg Extentions, Squats, Lying Leg Curl, and then Ran/Walked 5 miles..... Couldn't really walk much for 2-3 days and walked funny for 3 more days after that.. It was a full 9 days later that the soreness was 95% gone... Won't do that again!

Hehehehhehehehe, I couldn't help but giggle when I read that. I remember my first real leg workout. Squats, RDLs, Leg Presses and Hacksquats. I couldn't even walk, and stairs were the enemy. It took me over one full week to recover, but I hit legs again the following week even though I was still feeling some pain. Now, I can do that same workout with a lot more weight and I'll stay sore for maybe 1 day, 2 if I go balls out and do more reps. It's ussually DOMS too lol, so I get the nice surprise the following day. If it's really bad it will hurt when I have to sit on the can even lol, my quads will burn on the way down :)
