Hey everybody, are these two exercises essentially interchangeable?
I've done both, but in trying to work the hamstring, I can feel more after I've done the good mornings. With the SLDL, I seem to feel more going on in my lower back than my hamstrings.
Would one work a different part of the hamstring than the other, or in a different way maybe?
Thanks for any info!

The difference in feeling in the hamstrings likely has to do with your form. You're getting more of a stretch in the hamstrings during the good morning than the deadlift. Normally, the deadlift can put more emphasis on the hamstrings and less on the back, while the good morning can put more emphasis on the lower back than the hamstrings, but it depends on how you perform them.
If you feel the good morning is a more effective hamstring builder for you, don't be afraid to rely on it. However, you may want to go over your form for your stiff-legged deadlift.
Remember that, in any weighted movement that relies on hip extension, the knees should have some bend in them when the hips are flexed, otherwise you put undue stress on the tendons around the back of the knee.

You might wanna try Straight Leg Deadlift. I realized with those you need to do alot or have heavy weights and your Hamstrings will feel it but so does your lower back but hey its a compound exercise so its expected. DId them yesterday my lower back and Hamstrings are Killer Sore but I love it
