Because he had most of it to begin with, just covered by a lot of fat.

I didn't read the story that in depth, but the guy had a history of bodybuilding and had competed as a younger man. When you take a guy like that coming from even a long layoff of dieting right and training hard, it's not that unbelievable. If his Before picture was some skinny bastard, I'd be a lot more skeptical.

Much less fat, much better diet, much better training, much better posing. I wouldn't call it 1 in a million at all.

If you look at a lot of these transformation pictures, especially in advertsiments, you can tell that there is a base of muscle and strength there. That's why I think John's transformation is so astounding. Looking at his original picture and then reading about his lifestyle at the time, he literally built himself up from scratch.

Totally natural from what I can see. His after pics don't look like he is on any gear at all. He may have used t-3 or clen while dropping bodyfat and doing cardio, but as far as steroids I don't see anything that isn't attainable totally natural with consistent hard work. It's also the way he is standing in the before picture. He is not attempting to "flare" his lats whatsoever.

x2. The guy looks like he had years of training before he started this transformation. I think this is absolutely believable. Look closer at the lats in the before pic-they are pretty impressive considering he's not "flaring" them at all.

He had a serious base before this began, it was just covered up.

His latest pics (on the that site) of August 11/2007 make me think he's gone a bit too lean. While he's got a lot of muscle in these pics , to me he is starting to look somehow scrawny.

His earlier result pics, he looks bigger and stronger and healthier.

Can a 'cut" go too far?......

I think he's looking alright. Definitley cut, but I wouldn't say it's too far.

On second thought...he looks good from the front..

But the back shot is what made me say that.

I dunno...I still think he looked better a tad heavier.
