hi everyone, I was wondering if the Powertec Power Rack holds 6 foot barbells, the length of the holdable area is 43 inches, I've had a look at the other threads on here, and checked out Powertec's website but cant seem to find the info, I don't have much space to play about about with, hence the query so any info would be greatly appreciated.:tu:

My 7ft bar is 133cm (52in) holdable area and there is 119.5cm (47in) between the safety bars. It sounds as though a 6ft bar won't fit.

You're going to need something like this:

50" grip, what you lose is several inches off of each sleeve, which leaves you with a 6' bar. So you have slightly less grip area, and less room to load weights. I looked at the above bar when I was trying to save space, ended up going with a normal 7' and made it work.

I measured the safety bars on my Powertec and got 48" (46" in-between), so either way you should be fine with a 50" grip.

(for reference, my bar is 52" grip, 17" on each sleeve, for 7'2" total)

i used to use the 6 ft bar from new york barbells w/ my parabody power rack. it worked fine. while the sleeves are shorter, i could (if i remember correctly) fit at least 4 or 5 plates on the sleeve with room for the spring clips. the grip area is a bit less than on a 7 ft bar, but unless you get sloppy w/ your lifts you shouldnt ever have a problem re-mounting the bar.
