It's not actually directly about whey, but I'm buying protein powder this week and will take it 40-50 grams (protein) after workout (before workout I will eat something protein rich). The question is: How much carbs to eat after the workout? I'm thinking of buying a banana... is that enough?
OT: Can somebody recommend me easy and cheap source of protein you can take to school with you? Our school lunch is just so weak in protein... almost no protein at all (except the milk I drink there). And using whey in school too is too expensive for me.

Can't really answer the post workout carb question without digging deeper into your overall diet. Evaluating a single meal is of little value. Also, what are your current weight management goals? I think you're looking to add lean mass, right?
If it makes sense for you to be taking in 50g of protein PWO, I'd be taking in at least that many carbs, probably more. Depends on the big picture of what proceeded and what's to follow this meal.
The pre, during, and post workout nutrition sticky (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=272067) from bodybuilding.com is a decent read. Adjust things to fit your goals and results.
The cost per serving from whey is usually pretty damn cheap.

Yeah, it is also hard to say without knowing what his workouts consist of and what his goals are.

Goonie is right: we need more info please. :)
A banana is great but may not be enough. It depends on a lot.
OT: Tuna, turkey, eggs, egg whites, beef... :)
It's not hard to pack on mass or lose fat while in school. Especially if we're talking about high school where your age will benefit you, and where you have a great opportunity to join a team and play sports, which I would strongly recommend.
Give us more info on your situation, goals, etc. and we'll try to help more.

I agree, and his book is very good too. :tucool: However, I do not think such detail is needed for someone who is in high school. Sure it might help, just not necessary. Phase: if you want to get that detailed then that's fine, but simply going home and eating a big steak with some potatoes would take you pretty far at this point too, IMHO of course. :)

Yes, I'm looking to add some lean mass without any extra fat. My food plan was made by my personal trainer... with that food plan I should be getting 132 g of protein per day, but that's not enough. I weigh about 70 kg. Another trainer suggested me to eat about 3g per kg of protein a day. I'm adjusting the plan right now, so that I can get about 210 g of protein per day. I consume about 2700-3000 calories a day. All good food... no junk food! Carbs: ~328g, Fat: ~92g.
I just got a new training plan. It's split up in 3 days. And of course I do some cardio sessions too. About 2-3 cardio sessions per week.
Did I miss something? And sorry about my bad english:D.
