i been looking at multivitamins lately and many have thousands of percent the RDA for certain vitamins. do i really need 3000% RDA of thiamine, riboflavin, an B-6 ? Also, is a one a day vitamin no good for bodybuilding?

My understanding is that even if you consume "100%" of the recommended daily amount of a vitamin, that doesn't mean your body will absorb it all. So you consume more than you need so that you get enough.

However, I think 3000% is a little excessive. There also comes a point where too much becomes toxic (like with Vitamin E). Granted, the toxic amount is A LOT, but perhaps some other folks on the board could add more info.
