View Full Version : Any opinions or experience with this company?
GRCRYSTYK September 22nd, 2007, 01:51 PM Been looking for several months now, trying to find a good hip sled that didn't cost a small fortune. I figured I would have to find a commercial unit, with a few miles on it, in order to get the quality I was looking for, at a reasonable price,...
That's not working out very well, but recently, I came across this company,...Curious if anybody has used, seen, or had any experience with Yukon Fitness gear,....If the link works, it should take you to a page with a hip sled on it, which is what I'm looking for at the moment,...

GRCRYSTYK September 24th, 2007, 09:16 PM Wow! Nothing?

HevyMetal September 24th, 2007, 10:31 PM Looks o.k......
How do you engage/disengage the multi-point safeties on that rig?
I would get one with the biggest foot-plate area I could find.
That footplate looks pretty big. But I'd be interested to know the actual dimensions.
Large footplate area gives you way more options....as undoubtedly you allready know :)
GRCRYSTYK September 25th, 2007, 02:16 PM Hevy,..Not sure about the safety. I haven't seen one in person. Sure would like to,...
The only ones I have seen in person, that weren't commercial units were less than robust, lets say. I don't need a commercial unit for home use, but I want to purchase something of very good quality. Most of these units designed for use at home, are pretty crappy in my opinion. This one looks pretty dang good for the money.

RDR September 27th, 2007, 03:06 PM the fact that it weighs 465# is a good sign - it must be pretty heavy gauge.
I have the New York Barbells hip sled in my basement - I give it my full endorsement - it's a nice beefy unit, it weighs about the same as the Yukon sled.

I looked at the Northern Lights and bodysolid sleds before I bought mine - they're both about 100lbs. lighter and look like toys in comparison:nope:
GRCRYSTYK September 29th, 2007, 02:28 PM RDR,..
The New York unit was the other one I have had my eye on. I'm worried to death about ordering something like this on line. Either way, it's a huge gamble, unless I can find one locally to look at before making the order.
So you have had a good experience with yours? I do have a bit of an unusual issue with my space, which is governing what unit I get as well,...I need to be able to move the unit from a part of the room I will be using it in, to another, as I don't have space to leave it positioned for use all the time. The frame will play a large part, in my decision. The Yukon has a more boxy lower frame, which would be easier for me to build adjustable wheels for, so that's a consideration as well,...
Thanks for the input,...>>>--->

I am very happy with my sled - it is a very long unit though & I could see how space would be an issue for a lot of people.
I recently had an opportunity to try the powertec compact sled - and I was very impressed with it - it's not as versatile as the full size units, but it felt like a quality peice of equipment:tucool:
GRCRYSTYK October 4th, 2007, 09:19 PM Got a catalog from Yukon Fitness today. They have quite a bit of very nice looking gear,...
