View Full Version : Loosing more weight.
TwilightZone September 18th, 2007, 05:31 PM Hi all. Im a female of 22 y.o, 5.0ft and 130 lbs. my ideal weight is 110 lbs or so. Ive been dieting on a low carb high protein basis. loads of vegetables, fruit and lean chicken and tuna. my intake is 1200 cals a day. I exercise every day, 45 minutes of steps at a fast pace...
Ive lost loads of weight in the last 6 months, but lately it seems the weight loss stoped, for no reason. I would like to loose the 20 lbs until november.
Exercise is no problem to me, I would like to know what more can i do to loose more weight? thank you all for your suggestions.
2006elliotg September 18th, 2007, 05:56 PM hi i would try lowering your calories by another 100 and change to HIT cardio. only once uve eaten though else you could loose muscle
goonie September 18th, 2007, 08:17 PM Are you doing any resistance/strength training?
Low calorie and lots of cardio has the potential to put the body in a situation where it really becomes stingy at giving up additional body fat. If it's obvious it can't get the energy requirement from your diet to fuel your activity, it's going to hang on to fat for everything it's worth to keep things going.
For the last 6 months, has your daily intake been steadily coming down as the weight kept coming off? What calorie range did you start at compared to where you are now?
A sample day from your diet would also be helpful.
TwilightZone September 18th, 2007, 09:49 PM I started with 180 lbs, with about 1500 cals a day. but now my intake looks like this:
morning cottage cheese with choped strawberies
mid morning a cup of grapes
lunch lettuce, tomato, and onion salad with tuna
later one i have an apple
dinner grilled chicken breast with brocolli and carrots
i drink loads of water and i use jerky and celery sticks as a snack.

I would suggest reading the stickies. Your not eating enough protein and not in enough meals.

that looks less than 1200 calories to me. you arent eating any complex carbs? i think u should actually eat more to lose weight.
by the way, not lookin to start a debate here, but i wouldnt eat tuna every day. u can get salmon in a can and eat that some days.
TwilightZone September 19th, 2007, 02:39 PM Thanks all. I will try to add more to my menu. Someone mentioned HIT cardio. Im not familiar with that. what does it consist in? Thank you once again.

Jog 30 seconds, Sprint 30, Jog 30, Sprint 30, Jog 30, Sprint 30... etc. For 15 minutes, or whatever you can take. I've done LISS ( where you just run at a constant rate ) and my HR has gone to 170ish... maybe 180... I have reached my max HR ( or darn close ) on HIIT though :) Good stuff.
