View Full Version : Info for designing a workout routine?

I'm thinking of redesigning my workout. Right now it's a two day split, upper/lower. The upper body is too much to do, and by the end I'm getting too tired to lift.

Are there any good articles talking about different splits and exercises to do? I'm also interested in the whys, including the difference between push and pull.

I realize this is a lot of questions, but I'm not really sure where to start. My current workout is from a trainer, but I'd like to change it now, I'm starting to lift heavy-ish, and like I said, the upper body workout the way it is, is just too much.

So any pointers/tips or links would be great.

Thanks,
James

Here are a couple good links:

Training splits (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbinfo.php?page=TrainingSplits) - tons of articles on the hows and whys of splits.

A variety of splits (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?threadid=143006) (scroll down, it's long).
