Hey all...
Finally found a good deal on my very own Concept2 (LOVE Craigslist!).
Anyone who owns one have any tips on maintenance? Oil the chain? With any particular lube (I was thinking a quality bike chain lube)? How often? Anything else to be aware of/worth doing?
I've downloaded the original manual from their website but suprisingly they don't say much in the way of maintenance. It's in pretty decent shape right now...just want to make sure it stays that way!
Thanks!
Dan

I've had mine for just over a year (also 2nd hand). Just make sure that you wipe down the rail after every work out and oil the chain now and then - not too often. Very low maintenance imo.
This is probably not the best place for concept2 info. Take a look at http://www.concept2.com/us/default.asp or let google do its thing.

Thanks coda.
I've just read sporatic posts here from people who seem to pull regularly so I was hoping I might hit upon someone like you with some real-world experience keeping one up and running. After I posted...I actually found that there are forums on Concept2's site which actually got me a very similar answer to the one you provided :D. It's nice to know a company can actually produce a product that isn't as disposable as most things have become in this day and age!
Thx for your input!

I have a Model B, also bought used and its been great. What you've read so far has been my experience too. Another bit of advice: don't store the handle on the pegs. You only put the handle there so you can grab it once your feet are locked in. When you'e done working out, let the handle go all the way forward.
Concept2 is a great company. I contacted them because I wasn't sure that zipper sound was normal (it was my first rower). I told them It was a model b I bought used and they were still very friendly. They offered some tips for making it quieter and then sent me a manual, guide, some other materials and a bottle of oil-all for FREE. Pretty good customer service for a product that they had made 15 years ago!!

Just saw this today and had to laugh... I just bought a Concept 2 Model B on CraigsList yesterday - snagged it for $75.00... and it can give you a killer work out.
Well worth the space it takes up!
