Alright, so i've been reading and putting into effect the things I've learnt here and elsewhere but it's here again now... School :)
I live away from home and I want to get a bit more serious with my fitness because I've realized that everything else suffers badly if I don't take care of myself. And i've already had people tell me my face is slimmer etc etc so that feels good too :)
But what I do need help with now is coming up with a diet thats cheap, easy to prepare and keep to... as I am not much of a cook and I'm probably going to be on the go alot... I'm going to list what I have on the shopping list...

-Tuna
-Canned chicken breast
-Milk fat free or 1%(for the last month i've been drinking around 1 litre a day)
-frozen Veggies (just as healthy as fresh, right?)
-Peanut butter - natural
-Cereal- honey bunches of oats... as soon as this is done i'm swtiching to Kashi
-Oats
-fruits ... bananas... apples... berries...
-whole wheat bread
-brown rice
-nuts

Anything that I'm missing?

Now once the shopping list is complete... I'll need to figure out how to incorporte that into a 1700-2000 cal a day diet, how do you guys go about figuring that out?
I also have some whey protein power which I think can use as meals?

Thanks for reading, hopefully this isnt too scattered and makes some degree of sense. Take care people!

Go and read the sticky threads on nutrition. Formulate a plan, then come back here for critique. :)

For starters, you need to post your meals as meal 1, meal 2, ect. Just posting a shopping list isn't helpful. Yeah, it's nice to know what you're buying, but you have to break them down so if there should be a problem, it can fixed or tweaked.

Go to http://fitday.com an create a account. It's free and then you can figure out roughly ( Fit Day sucks in terms of exact numbers) how many calories you will be eating every day.

Shakes should never be used as meals. They are fine for PWO ( post workouts or if you really don't have access to real food) as they are a supplement, not a replacement.

Frozen veggies are fine as long as you eat them. Try adding sweet potato in there for fiber.

Your list is a good start. Here are some things I would add:

Lean Beef
Eggs or Egg beaters
Beans (Kidney, Black, etc.)
Cottage Cheese

P.S Kashi is fantastic.
