So I was thinking of investing in some sort of body fat tracking device since I don't have one yet and am stuck between two products. I was going to buy the Omron bioelectric body fat calculator that i've seen many people with, but when i saw the calipers JS uses, and was really interested in purchasing those. All in all my main question is, do the calipers JS uses (the FatTrack PRO) only work well for people with less body fat on them? (aka people who don't have a bulging stomach like I do) or does size not make a difference?

I was originally going to purchase the Omron one, and when I got skinnier going to purchase the FatTrack's... if anyone could shed some light, i'd really appreciate it.

You can save some money and get this Accumeasure Fitness 2000 Body Fat Caliper . I bought mine on with a tape measure on amazon.com for around 10$. They all basically work the same as long as you use them consistently.

Here is what I do. I first get on the scale, then write down the weight.
Next I measure my waist, then my neck with the tape measure. Write it down.
Then I measure with the calipers at the illiac. It will show you how to do that in the packaging. I write down the reading from the chart that is enclosed with it.

Then I go here and type in the measurements from the tape.

Then I average the 2 readings out. This gives me a fairy consistent reading from week to week. That way I know how to adjust my diet depending on if I am buliking, cutting or whatever.

Awesome! Please let me know. I'm just worried about grabbing skin+flab instead of just skin, haha.

I use the FatTrack II calipers that I got from Bodybuilding.com

Came with a Myotape.

Easy to use.
