Hey
I'm ready to get back on track with my diet and I'd say I know enough to concoct my own plan...I've done a lot of reading on this forum !

Problem is I kinda suck at coming up with recipies so I'm looking for some premade ones and trust me I've looked. But they all seem kinda geared towards adults with huge taste palletes.

I'm kinda a plain guy and would really be interested in any simple to make and simple tasting foods following a 40/40/20-ish ratio... Do any of you have recipes like that?

Thanks!

Are you looking for "kid-friendly" recipes because you're a kid?

Recipes are just different ways to throw things together. Often, the things that are thrown together are added sugars and added fats. The best meals I can eat are usually the ones that have the fewest ingredients and the simplest cooking methods, so I find I rarely ever need recipes anymore.

For example, I lightly scrub a sweet potato, poke holes in it with a fork, and microwave it for three to five minutes, depending on size.

Then I cut up a spear of broccoli into chunks, rinse it with water, and microwave it for two minutes.

Similarly, I chop boneless skinless chicken breasts into small pieces, and brown them in a frying pan, adding some water so they don't stick.

These three things taste really good together, and don't require any fancy sauces or spices (but you could add some salsa, or some cranberries to jazz it up if you like)

I don't really like the idea of following a food plan for a 40/40/20 diet, because we need different mixes of macronutrients at different times of the day, according to our hunger, exercise shedule, moods, and fatigue.

Are there any particular foods you'd like to try but you don't know how to prepare them? What does your current plan for nutrition look like? What are your favorite foods and spices?

Here are some ideas to get you started (http://www.eatingforlife.com/recipes/)from the Eating for Life book, which (as far as I know) suggests a fairly regular 40/40/20 consumption at each meal. If you don't want to buy the book, you might ask at your library if they carry it.
