Day 1
Squat
Calf Raises
Stiff Legged deadlift
Bench
Incline Bench
Pull up
Dip

Day 2
Military Press
Dumbell Shoulder Press
Dead Lift
Row
Hammer Curls
Seated Dumbell Curls
Skull Crushers
Tricep Kickbacks

Goals of cutting - and doing 5 x 5 for these. Workout 4 days a week, and Liss inbetween. Will be on a calorie deficit- hitting 2400. 6 foot 2 and 202 pounds, approx 22 % bf (scale given). Goal of 176 pounds.

Does anyone consider a work out like this overtraining or not optimum. If so, which exercises should i drop. I realise the curls and tri stuff on day 2 is probably not essential, so if I'm struggling on this day they'll be the first to go.

Regards

Ben

What's the weekly schedule for on and off days when performing this routine?

The 6 compound exercises you have layed out under Day 1 look like a lot of work for a 5x5 while cutting, especially if you plan on repeating this workout twice a week. Just looking at your pressing layout, I don't see the need for bench, incline bench, and dips to be a part of your Day 1 workout each time with your frequency. Day 2 is a tough follow up with more pressing actions and tricep work. Seems like you would need at least a couple between Day 1 and Day 2 to pair exercises this way.

Might want to think about splitting things around a push/pull, or upper/lower system.

Yeah, i was planning to do day 1 then a day off, then day 2 etc. They wouldn't be on successive days.

How would a push pull work around those exercises that i've got outlined? I'm using free weights at home and am getting there with form for the already outlined exercises.
