With the Multi-System going for $999 at Dick's Sports the price difference between the larger Powertec system and smaller leverage gym isn't that much. What are the pro's and con's to each?

Also, the bench is not attached to the frame. So you can use the bench with dumbbells or later with a cage. Regarding your specific question, it looks like you can actually do more exercises with the leverage system that the multi system. But I'm not an expert and have not used ether machine. stuuke August 21st, 2007, 05:46 PM It looks like the Body Solid version has a cable. There are some pics on the Body Solid website that show someone doing a cable pec fly. I'm really surprised that these companies don't have more examples of the exercise you can do on their equipment. Regarding the comparison between the Powertec Multi Gym and Leverage Bench, does the multi gym offer leg curls? What is the best price on the Leverage Bench? From what I've seen if you add the curl attachment the two units are almost the same price. stuuke August 21st, 2007, 09:10 PM If I go with the Leverage Bench what is the best online retailer to purchase it from? From what I've seen if you add the curl attachment the two units are almost the same price. You can't do leg curls. You can't use varied hand positions or add different bars for lat work (you could possibly order the leg attachment from Powertec). You're limited on how wide a stance you can use for squats. There's more...but I'm getting ready to head out the door at the moment. Goneguy August 24th, 2007, 10:43 AM As an owner of the Powertec WB-MS, the only difference I see between it and the LS is the capability to do multiple exercises simultaneously. Good if you have a partner and don't want any down time between sets, but not necessary if lifting by yourself. Kino is right about the spacing on the squat attachment. Your feet are pretty much fixed on the plate, which is only about 12" x 12". Don't get me wrong, I love my system because I can lift heavier when my wife isn't home (she would be upset if she came home and found me with a bar across my chest). But, like I said, if you are lifting by yourself, save a few extra bucks and go with the LS. As for where to buy it, I got mine from www.bigfitness.com (http://www.bigfitness.com). They provide free shipping. |
