Now that my garden is overflowing, are there any vegetables to avoid while trying to lose weight? I was told by a PT that she never touches corn because it's basically empty calories.

I've got 3 types of corn (Silver King, Silver Queen, and Honeysweet) jalepeno Peppers, green peppers, okra, tomatoes, crowder peas, snow peas, cantaloupes, and watermelons coming in now. I've also got a pantry full of Jamestown potatoes, radishes, broccoli, and onions from the spring.

Are any of these detrimental in trying to finally get rid of my gut. This time of year, I rarely eat what I don't grow in the garden (except for beef, chicken, turkey, or fish)

Corn isn't a vegetable, but a grain. It's pretty empty of nutrients vs other vegetables (same with white potatoes), so I don't eat it much. It's not horrible, though. It's got B vitamins and folate for instance.

Fresh garden corn is horrible for you. In fact, it's so bad that I'll gladly take it off of your hands, free of charge!

Seriously, that corn may not be the "best" choice, but I'd wager having an ear w/ a meal isn't going to destroy your chances of getting rid of your gut.

I'm seriously jealous of your stockpile of garden veggies!

I'm so jealous. I don't think you should eat any of your veggies... I'll take all of them, so you don't have to worry about eating the bad ones.

"Vegetables to avoid" sounds to me pretty much like "candies to consume"...
