Has anyone ever read the previous edition of this book?

I'm wondering how helpful this book would be, since my parents both have lower back pain.

Thanks in advance.

It might be a bit difficult for a non-physio to understand. Costly as well for something that might not be of great use to a patient. Perhaps you could ask your local central library to order it?

I have low back pain, in my case caused by inflammation to one of my sacroiliac joints. I think I just need to do the right stretching exercise, as I think it's probably caused by a stiff, shortened muscle or ligament. Probably the psoas in my case. Many cases of back pain - apart from those that are obviously caused by disc probalems - are due to muscle tightness or weakness anywhere from the legs up to the upper torso. I can have pain up in the left lat or down in either calf, with pins and needles in the foot.

There's a good book called Osteopathic Self-Treatment, by Leon Chaitow, which gives tests and exercises for various problems. Paperback, just a few pounds. Price that is, not weight.
