i want to start on the creatine soon but i much prefer to take the capsules rather than the powder.

Do the caps give the same effect? i mean there just the same as the powder but in a much more convinient form right????

I just started taking Purple K which is a new type of creatine called kre-alkalyn, and it's in capsule form. I've only heard good things about it so far, and there is no water retention as in monohydrate. You can read more about it here, http://kingofcreatine.com/

I took my first dose yesterday before my jiu-jitsu class and I did feel an improvement in my strength and stamina. I'm interested to see what type of improvements I'll see on lifting days.

EXACTLY. Unless your using CEE or the one Chang mentioned as those taste absolutely awful. Monohydrate has no flavor that's why most people prefer just the powder cuz its cheaper. You can even put a spoon full in your mouth with water and use your mouth as a mixer. If you did this with the other ones you will probably gag or spit it out instantly.

i use to do that with the flavourless powder form, spoon a gobful but it just became to repulsive & i nearly threw up towards the end.

it felt like id just had a mouthful of chalkdust or dry cement mix shoved into my gob.:(
