I've had eggs, egg whites, a mix of the both. I've had breakfast burritos. For awhile i just had a bowl of cereal with fat-free milk. What else could i have for breakfast? I'm not that fond of oatmeal.

Do you eat the eggs and steak together or separately? dodus June 15th, 2007, 03:30 AM You doing anything to those eggs? You can do a million things with them, I keep my taste buds happy just switching around the ingredients in my omelet. sevenatenine June 15th, 2007, 06:47 AM French toast has been my thing lately. I tried omelets and only made it about 4 days with them. Turns out for the nutritional content I want in my omelet I need to make one thats big enough to feed a whole family, plus a couple pieces of toast and thats on a cutting diet. I just couldn't stomach that much food that early in the morning. But french toast with a glass of milk hits the spot! Syrup isn't on my list of things to eat, so I just put about a half a tbs of margarine (I managed to find some non hydrogenated stuff with olive oil in it) on each piece, that gives me some breakfast fat, and my french toast some taste. chris0374 June 15th, 2007, 07:29 AM how can you not like oatmeal? it taste bland by itself but add stuff to it and it's so good. oxalic June 16th, 2007, 07:38 PM I do add stuff to my eggs, but thats basically what i've been eating for every breakfast. I'm very tired of them. Oatmeal has an awful texture of plain old mush. No matter what kind or how its cooked it always has a mushy texture. Adding things to it doesnt make it much better, unless you cheat (ie sugar, brown sugar). I might try some french toast. The whole no syrup makes it much healthier but much less tasty. Zoetastic June 16th, 2007, 07:45 PM protein pancakes? smoothie with protein? George June 16th, 2007, 07:52 PM Oatmeal has an awful texture of plain old mush. No matter what kind or how its cooked it always has a mushy texture. Adding things to it doesnt make it much better, unless you cheat (ie sugar, brown sugar). Have you tried eating it uncooked? I haven't cooked oats in years and enjoy it so much more. It has a nice texture, especially if you go for steel cut, and the total volume is cut down as well as the prep work. I just mix it with a bit of water and a scoop of protein powder. It creates a thick, crunchy paste thing. :) sevenatenine June 16th, 2007, 08:15 PM If your one of those people who prefer syrup on your french toast (I honestly like a bit of margarine just as well on mine) then 1 tbsp of maple syrup wont kill your eating plan. 1tbsp of maple syrup only has about 50 calories, 12g sugar, and if you cant eat it without, thats a small price to pay for a healthy breakfast. Alternativly I have heard talk about an "atkins" syrup that doesn't have sugar, I have never seen it but if the 50 calories from maple syrup sugar bother you look around for something like that. But first, try making your french toast with some vanilla extract mixed in with the eggs, some cinnamon sprinkled on it while cooking, and a bit of margarine melted over it after its cooked. Thats how I eat mine and I love it, but to each his own. Chris. oxalic June 25th, 2007, 08:39 AM protein pancakes? smoothie with protein? What do you throw in either of those inventions? I'll try french toast soon. I've been sticking to my 2 whites 1 egg lately. krosspyder June 26th, 2007, 03:37 AM Have you tried eating it uncooked? I haven't bothered with it for a while, but putting it on my french toast and protein pancakes used to be the highlight of my day. ebatch20 June 27th, 2007, 02:16 PM "Eat dinner, it's what for breakfast." I eat Chicken, Beef, etc.. all day long most of the time - Mostly because it's easy to prepare all at once! Good post :) HevyMetal June 27th, 2007, 02:43 PM Turkey bacon and buckwheat pancakes with real maple syrup. Ever tried chicken for breakfast? Digests very nicely. I have found that while eggs/egg whites are an excellent protein, if I eat them in appreciable double digits they can sometimes leave me feeling a little heavy and sluggish. oxalic June 27th, 2007, 11:39 PM I had some eggs with smoked salmon. I love salmon so that was good. I also had some crepes, not much protein in there though, i might mix some powder in the batter and expirment a bit more. I had sweet potato pancakes, not bad, mostly egg whites and sweet potatoes, tasted good without anything on them. Sometimes i have dinner for breakfast, sometimes its too heavy for me to get down. Ill probably have beef stew for breakfast tomorrow. |
