My trainer has had me working a lot lately with kettle bells. I have not seen much mentioned about them? Any thoughts. All I can say is that it kicks my butt and is a great workout!:tucool:

Most people would rather buy dumbbells rather than kettle bells due to its versatility. If you have the money for it or your gym actually carries them then yeah it makes a great workout especially for cutting and it also does wonders for grip training. Hockey4 June 14th, 2007, 06:33 PM I know a lot of people that are into sport specific training that are obsessed with them, especially people involved in fighting sports like boxing or mixed martial arts. A few people I know absolutely swear by them. I haven't really used them much, but then again, my goals are different than theirs. But I am curious and will probably use them at some point or another. Hallows June 16th, 2007, 05:47 PM Anyone know where one might buy kettle bells? I'd like to try a few out in conjunction with my dumbells. chicanerous June 16th, 2007, 05:53 PM Check out dragondoor.com. MannishBoy June 16th, 2007, 06:09 PM Check out dragondoor.com. Or there are a lot on ebay. mattback June 16th, 2007, 09:50 PM they are goofier than dumbbells. for that reason, they make you work harder to move the same weight. when iw ork out with a 35# kb, it feels almost like a 45# db. i alternate between both. i prefer doing renegade man makers with db's, and crunching tiger hidden pushup with kb's betastas June 17th, 2007, 12:35 AM At the garage we do kettlebell swings for the posterior chain. High rep stuff. Kettlebells are neat, but not necessary by any means. 'Functional strength' is the latest buzz-term in training (again). zenpharaohs June 17th, 2007, 01:43 AM My trainer has had me working a lot lately with kettle bells.
